The XIP Libraries currently work for thick, locally installed applications. They also include functions for remote rendering; however, these functions utilize a proprietary protocol. The remote rendering capabilities should offer the option of using standardized web rendering languages, such as HTML 5 and WebGL. The goal is to facilitate the building of applications that present a web-based GUI (see issue XIP-79).
